Youth Mental Health Day
Today Friday the 19th of September marks Youth Mental Health Day, a day that acts as a reminder of the importance of good mental health in young people and seeks to squash any taboos surrounding mental health.
The awareness day was founded in 2020 by the digital mental health charity for children and young people STEM4 (Supporting Teenage Mental Health) to provide young people with the opportunity to talk about mental health and raise awareness of the tools and coping strategies that are available.
This year the theme of the day is ‘Share Support’ to encourage children and young people to connect, share, and access clinically informed mental health resources to advance their knowledge and feel empowered with practical tools to help manage mental health.
In this informative guide we shall delve into common factors that can drive mental health concerns in young people as well as effective strategies for discussing mental health with children and how you can help to support young people’s mental health in the workplace.
